I think that George will find something out from Joe that will incriminate him. Joe will end up going to jail and Chris will be mad at him. Annie will be disappointed in Joe but her and Chris will run away together to get married and start a new life. Kate will be left at home all by herself waiting for her husband and sons to come home. Poor Kate. I don't know if that's really going to happen but it seemed like the most obvious thing at the moment.
