WE GOT THE GRANT!!!
That's what's up! Just for everyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, it's a grant from MIT for $10,000. We got the grant because we are building a portable disaster relief shelter. I'm pretty pumped because I'm the leader of the team and I wrote the proposal that we sent to MIT. MIT stands for Massachusetts Institute of Technology by the way. It's the #1 engineering school in the United States. Mr. Niehaus came and told me and I jumped about two feet in the air and gave him a big hug. Then I called my mom to tell her but she didn't get to the phone in time, so I left a crazy message. When she called back she was so excited and of course like a big baby I started crying. It seems pretty pathetic, I know but I've never worked so hard for something before. It's definitely the biggest event in my life so far. So, what this means is that we have money to actually develop our shelter AND the whole team gets to go to MIT this summer to present the project. I went last summer and it was amazing. I'm so happy that the rest of the team gets to go. Especially Christian, because like me, he would love to go to college there. We were one of the sixteen teams that get selected for the grant and we are the first team from Indiana. Not to mention Pike Central! Woot-woot!

Since I proofed your paper last year, I think I deserve to go with you this summer! You need to beg Mr. Niehaus to let me go. I'll even pay my own way!
I couldn't be prouder of you and your group!
Correction, we were one of twelve teams that were selected. That makes it even better!
